One of the biggest reasons I'm using Firefox instead of Safari is because I have been unable to figure out how to allow some sites to generate popups but not others. Safari seems to be all-or-nothing.

Am I wrong? Am I missing a setup screen or something?

I've never had a pop-up in Safari. Just go and click on block pop-ups.

That's the whole point. Some legitimate sites need pop-ups to appear in order to work correctly. These site are annoying though!

What's that?

Some of the sites I visit use popups for IM communications. I need those to work.

Firefox allows you to allow specified sites to do popups. I guess I'm looking for that feature in Safari.

Use pithhelmet with safari. It blocks and allows what you want.

Under the Safari menu there's an option to turn pop-up blocking on or off (shortcut: Command-K). So I guess you could at least easily turn the Safari blocking on/or with a keyboard command. Does that help?

I say either stay with FireFox or try OmniWeb 5.1...

I just downloaded Pithhelmet and will try it, although I'm not really keen on spending yet another $10 on it. I've already blown too much money on software I ended up not using (MissingSynch and DragThing).
