Hello hopefully somebody can help me with this:

When I use Firefox I get a lock-up or a kernal panic at least once a day. Its generally happens when I click a link or change a tab. It happens so randomly that i have no idea what really causes it.

If I go back to using Safari all the time it generally stops happening. I say generally because it has happened a couple times in the last few months when Firefox hasn't even been running. I have clicked on an app that has been minimized to the dock and it has locked up in the same manner.

I have cleaned out the FireFox preferences many times (Right now its completely deleted off) and i have tried different memory sticks from my PC. I ran Tech Tool Pro 4 and it didnt find anything wrong with the mem, etc.

I have a 1.6 G5 powermac with 1.25 gigs of RAM. Panther 10.3.7 (It's happened on every version)

Any help or ideas to check into would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Take out non-factory RAM and see if the problem goes away.

I have gotten a lockup in Firefox on the original 256 megs that came with it.

What else is running? Is the computer running hot? Is there a lot of disk activity (that you can notice)?

Have you considered reinstalling Firefox? It didn't really "take" the first time I installed it, but the second time worked like a charm!

I highly doubt that Firefox could cause a KP. My suspicion is that you have a hardware problem, such as faulty RAM.
