This is sort-of a software issue as it does concern browsers

Launch.com is known for not liking Firefox, even with WMP9 video plugins installed, on Windows or an x86 UNIX using VLC-plugin. Shouldn't be a problem, we have IE and WMP9 on OSX.

Doesn't work. Tells me to use Netscape 4.7.x or 7.1

7.1 doesn't work. Tells me to install 4.7.x

I install Classic, it comes with 4.7.7. One painfully slow Classic Enviroment start later (did OS9 really take that long?), I get "A network error occured when Netscape was sending data" when trying to access a video. A few tens of reloads later, tells me to install 4.7.x. 4.7.7 must be too old, I assume

I try 4.7.9. Tells me to install 4.7.x. Must be a typo, try 4.8

I try 4.8 - same story

I give up in desperation and actually try Firefox, tells me to install Netscape 4.7

Has ANYONE managed to get ANY browser to work with Launch.com under OSX? Even one of the commercial ones?

Yeah, i'll be the bearer of bad news, seeing as christmas is over here.
There's no way to get Launch to work on OS X.
It uses a WMP codec that is not included in the Mac version. It's not really a browser issue, because no matter what browser you choose, it still boots the video to the WMP plugin, which can't handle it.

Just another reason Microsoft sucks.
Sorry.

I feel your pain.

First, I think it's Yahoo's flaw. Then, I opened up Safari and set it to Windows MSIE 6.0 user agent. The page loaded up, but the video didn't play. I read the source.

I guess either the script is wrong or there's problem calling up the WMP plug-in.

well.. I later read the system requirements.

Macintosh
• Mac OS 8.5 to 9.x
• At least 200MHz PowerPC or better (iMac OK)
• At least 96MB RAM; 64MB dedicated to Netscape
• Netscape Navigator 4.5 to 4.78
• Windows Media Player 7.01

Not supported by LAUNCH:
• Netscape Navigator 5.6 and 6.0 or higher for PC or Mac
• Windows Media Player 9 Beta for PC
• Mac OS X

Indeed. I kicked Launch to the cub when I got an iPod. I used to have one of the most popular stations. Ah, back in the day...
