I was updating my powerbook g4 yesterday and before updating poisoned was working now i realizzed it does not work maybe it is not a update problem the message i get when i open posioned is the follow: You seem to have a problem with the gift daemon launching or crashing? would you like to attempt to fix this i clicked on yes and then it says: would you like to restart poisoned? This will put all saved preferences and currently downloading files into the trash. i said yes then i get : SORRY! Poisoned was not able to reset from previous versions due to an error in permissions. can not move incoming folder to trash. Please do that manually. .. HELP... :s i dont understand anything of that?...

*my only solution now is to either delete it compeletly which i dunno how to do.,.. soo help if u know that as well *

Error in permissions: open /Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility

Select your hard drive at left.

Click "repair permissions".

try poisoned again.

report back.

btw, the "Mac Help" (accessible directly from the Finder's Help menu or via any other help and then the Library menu) is an excellent resource, and keyword-searchable.

Not an admonishment, mind you - I'm just continually surprised at how well it really works and am recommending it to new users all the time.

I would trash all the Poisoned files and reinstall. The easy way is to search your hd with Find for 'poisoned', and throw all of the results in the trash. Empty the trash, install the program again, restart, and ........ it ought to work better.

it's a bug with the Gnutella plug-in

see the top post in this forum topic:

http://www.gottsilla.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=2089

you gotta be quick on the mouse, but it works (you just can't use gnutella).

Xfactor is the best P2P app out there. I'd recommend it even if you weren't having trouble with Poisoned. In my experience, it just works better.

My favorite is Acquisition, for what it's worth. Well-written code.
