Hi, everyone! I'm considering purchasing a LaCie external DVD burner with my main motivation being the ability to burn music CD's without the annoying skips between tracks. I cannot get iTunes to burn a disc without these very brief but nerve-grating hiccups in playback. The LaCie burners come with full versions of Toast 6. Does anyone know if I'll be able to burn CD's without the skips using Toast 6 and an external burner? I'll be burning copies of CD's I've purchased directly from the CD, and I'll burn some discs from AAC's I've ripped. I don't like carrying the original discs around, because they inevitably get damaged. However, I've been risking it since converting to Mac, because I cannot duplicate an original CD. I just can't stand the gaps, especially on live recordings and with songs that run into each other. Thanks for any help!

Toast can burn without the gaps ("disk at once").

That doesn't get rid of the mini-gap. You need disk at once burning which iTunes doesn't support.

Why do you want to buy a DVD writer if you only want Toast ? Would't just buying Toast be more logical ?

Toast puts those micro-gaps in 'mixed cds' also ... sometimes Jam can fix this. I would say Jam can fix it about 50% of the time on my disks.
