I think originally it was to be, but check out the system requirements:

System Requirements

- Windows 95, 98, Me, 2000, XP or Mac OS X
- 64Mb RAM
- 233mhz CPU or better
- 5MB for Install Disk Space

The only thing I don't like about it is the subscription model or flat rate of $37...

Actually, that looks like some evil attempt at duping people out of their money.

Especially since it is spelled "exeem" on ********.org and the exceem.com website looks pretty shady (with no demo to download).

Any work being done on an open source decentralized Bittorrent client for OS X?

Exeem reportedly has spyware (slashdot.org), is Windows only, and is essentially unrelated to the 'nova or BT, the 'nova's mentioning it seems to be a "PR campaign".

Exceem, never heard of it, probably like the .com and .org versions of the 'nova, what .net called the "scammers".

Decentralized P2P would be gnutella or freenet, neither is the greatest option ATM, P2P needs a bit more time to advance. There are a few new OSS projects that I haven't tried, might want to search www.sf.net or something.

Looks like a scam to me. Too many eager torrenters looking for a new place to get their daily fix are going to jump on it as well.

That would be eXeem you are talking about, and yes, it is being worked on for OSX as we speak.. (Actually back-engineered since the original devs are pretty anti-linux/mac)

It's a scam. Don't sign up for it.

eXeem is not a BT client. It uses a new protocol. Doesn't use a sentral tracker for the files like BT.

It is pc-only for now. And only 5.000 have a early beta version.

There is no such thing. Exceem/Exeem/Exsomething is a completely new system with a completely new protocol.

People are already working at reverse-engineering the new protocol so that Mac and Linux clients can be written, much as was done for Gnutella. However, that work isn't likely to bear fruit for a while yet.
