Hey all, finally decided to join Macnn Forums.

Anyways, I was just wondering. Is it possible to have a one way video chat with a PC user? I don't have a camera, but me and my friend wanted to have a one way video chat, so I could watch her and make sure she does her homework

I tried with iChat, but it wouldn't let her connect to me on her PC. Then I looked for AIM with video chat, but it seems to not be available for Mac yet.

Bottom line: How do I and a PC user one-way video chat, where I can see the other person on my Mac?

I find that with AIM and iChat, it's hit or miss.

My pc friend has a camera, as do I on my mac. I can infrequently have a videochat with her, it'doesn't work every time.

On Yahoo IM, the videochat works rather flawlessly. Unless the flaw is the video quality. it's pretty crappy.

In other scenarios (one-way video chats with a PC person, where my video is what's showing), iChat generally works well.
