I have received a power point presentation which I can read on a PC but I can't read on my iBook G4. Any clues as to why? Other presentations work well on both machines.

It could be an old version of Powerpoint. Mac Powerpoint and Windows Powerpoint have been pretty much cross platform since Powerpoint 98 (Mac) and Powerpoint 97 (Win). A file created in an older version of Powerpoint for Windows will open up in (say) Powerpoint XP (Win) but not in Powerpoint X (Mac).
If this is why you can't see it, it's easily fixed. Open the file in a recent version of Powerpoint for Windows and resave it. The newer format should open on the Mac if you have a recent version of Powerpoint.

To add to that, sometimes people will save on the PC with the extension for "PowerPoint97-2002 & 95", thinking this will help make it accessible for everyone. It makes for a huge file, and the result is not always pleasing. Make sure the person saves it as "Presentation" which will save in the latest format.

Ignore the argumentative nature of this poster. He is old and can't engage in meaningful dialog
very long. Therefore, management asks that you at least humor him. Thanks.

Thanks. The procedure worked like a charm.

Thanks; I'll pass it on to my study group.
