Help!

Stuffit Expander (the latest free version) has been acting weird as of yesterday. When I launch it, it bounces in the Dock for several minutes before launching. Sometimes it doesn't even launch at all and I have to force quit.

I repaired permissions, verified and repaired the HD using Disk Utility and still the same. I even did 'fsck'.

I even went so far as to completely reformat my HD (even zeroing out all the data), reinstall Panther, and it still behaves this way. It never behaved this way before!

I have tried both the latest version and a previous version--to no avail. I even erased my HD and installed Jaguar instead, and... no difference.

What is going on? Do I need to get a more robust disk repair utility like Disk Warrior or Tech Tool Pro to see what's wrong? Shouldn't the fact that I reformatted and zeroed out all the data make things the way they were before? As far as I know, Stuffit is the only application affected--everything else seems to be working fine.

My system: Power Mac G4 1.25 GHz, 1.25 GB RAM, Mac OS X 10.3.7.

Any input would be appreciated...

I have the exact same thing happening. I just tried unistalling and re-installing but no luck there.
Edit - ooops, thanks I'll try the advice from that thread.
Edit2 - Thanks, it worked. Although when I waited for it to give up phoning home it quit by itself. Turning off Airport fixed that though.

Okay, I read the other thread about Stuffit's Preferences, but why was it working fine before? I certainly didn't change any of the preferences in Stuffit?...

Allume's server is down or something, hence the exhaustive wait for it to time out before Stuffit responds nicely.
