i have a windows desktop and a 12" powerbook.

i have a compusa brand wired router and an airport express hardwired to that. the two comps cant see music from the other

also is there a way to use airtunes off the wired one since the airport express is in the same network

any ideas on how to get the 2 comps to see eachother and be able to stream from the desktop?

to get iTunes sharing to work, make sure that router and machine firewalls have port 3689 open.

Turn off "Distribute IP addresses" on the AirPortExpress. Then make sure you have the latest firmware for it installed (after making sure that your wireless computer has the latest version of the AirPort software installed), and make sure that the setting allowing AirTunes on wired network is enabled (it might be defaulted to on when not in NAT mode).

I turned off Distribute IP addresses and could not get an internet connection.

My system has the airport express directly connected to the cable modem/ethernet.

I have 3 computers which then get their connections from the Airport Express.

I can only see shared iTunes music on our iMac which has multiple users on it. I can see the shared music from my iMac when using my Powerbook. But I cannot see the shared music from my Powerbook when using the iMac.

I have looked for shared music and share my music selected in my preferences. I have the iTunes ports open in Sharing Services.
