I bought an iBook over Thanksgiving weekend. When it showed up, it had some coupons in there which one might come to believe are good for future updates in the iLife suite. Is this total malarkey? Are these things good for anything? I'm really stoked about the new iLife suite, and it would be worth the $79 to get it, but if I can save that flow, I would be oh-so-happy as I don't have a lot of it sitting around.

Thanks,
D

They won't be of any use, I'm afraid.

In short, no you can't use them.

I see. Well, then my objection comes not so much from the inability to get free software just because I purchased a new computer in the last 2 months, but rather from the mere presence of such coupons in the first place. What is the point of including them if in the end they only serve as a cruel reminder that if you had purchased your computer only a little bit later, you would be getting more for your dollar.

Slightly peeved,
D

They're included in all products, regardless of ship/manufacture date. They just seem to be more useful if purchased after a keynote speech when new versions are announced.
