I am on a DSL running with a wireless setup.

I am trying to watch the keynote and after about 10 seconds it always stops and shudders and it makes no more progress.

What kind of connection does one need to watch a freakin keynote?

I remember watching a few keynotes that worked fairly well on my old cable internet.

Could there be some setting that can be tweaked to make this work?

Try disabling Instant On in System Preferences > Quicktime
