I am suffering from a missing formula bar. I have reinstalled, turn it on and off (50 times), I can't seem to figure out what I did to make it disappear. At my wits end. Any suggestions? I have a powerbook G4, running Panther.

Is Formula Bar greyed out in the "View" pull down menu? Or doesn't it exist or what? If it's not greyed out willit allow you to have a check mark next to it?

When you unistalled did you delete EACH and EVERY file related to Excel?

I have the same problem -- the Format pull down menu is simply not listed in the menu bar. The choices are File, Edit, View, Data, Window and Help.

Any idea how to get the Format pull-down back?

UPDATE: I figured it out. For the benefit of of others:

View --> Toolbars --> Customize Toolbars/Menus --> then select the Commands button at the top of the window --> in Categories, select 'built-in Menus', then drag then 'Format' menu into Pull-down menu window that appeared.
