Hi there,

After using mail without a hitch for the past year, all of a sudden my junk email filter is no longer filtering at all.

I have started manually marking messages as junk again, but mail has not flagged (and moved) any of the dozens of junk emails that are coming in.

Anyone know what may have caused this, or more importantly, how I can get it to start working again?

Thanks,

Mike

Same problem. My PB17 simply stopped filtering junk. I don't believe I installed or changed anything??

There has to be some preference file that can be deleted and recreated?

Anyone?

I was given some advice at the discussion forum over at Apple.

By deleting the MessageSorting.plist and MessageSorting.plist.backup files from my Home/Library/Mail folders and starting over in training mode, Mail is starting to recognize some Junk again.

Unfortunately, this deletes my other mail filters, but they are pretty easily recreated (for me).

Hope this helps,

Mike

Happened to me a year ago. You have to delete the plist and start from scratch again. A pain, but only took a few days to be back where it was.
