I have a bunch of Word for Mac documents (2000) that I need to give to some friends who
sob, sob, have to use pcs...
If I just burn them on a disk will they be able to read them if they have MicroSoft office? Or will I have to convert them first ... Also do I have to choose any special options to burn a pc readable disk?
Just copy them to CD. Your PC friends may see 0-4 byte files that appear to have the same name as the Word files but have a period (.) in front of them. Or email them using Mail and make sure to check the box that says "Send Windows-friendly attachments).
They should just copy straight across, without any problems. Make sure that if you burn to CD, however, that you use a format which PCs can read. Other than that, there should be no trouble.
You are in Soviet Russia. It is dark. Grue is likely to be eaten by YOU!
IMPORTANT! --> Make sure you name all your Word files so that they end with .doc (that's dot D O C). The Windows Version of Word MUST CONTAIN the extension of .doc for Word to know what type of file it is.
