problem with disk copy mounting

Running 10.2.8 any .dmg file I download will attempt to mount with disk copy but then it just quits without mounting the image. Any attempts to use mount.app or opening the file from within the utility gives the same results. I've tried multiple files and nothing works so I doubt its a corruption issue. Thanks for any help!
