ok so what the hell is going on with my iMovie/Toast??

i have a movie all made up in iMovie of my band performing. It plays perfectly IN iMovie...HOWEVER when i save (Share) it as a full DV the sound is no longer in sync with the picture (picture is ahead). This has never happened before so i dont know where to even start. I'm almost positive i'm on the right frame rate. The movie file that is in the iMovie folder for this project even plays correctly...HOWEVER when i put it in Toast and it encodes it for a VCD, it's outta sync again.

HELP! i NEED this for promotional use SOON!

Well thank you, for the overwhelming amount of patience. To wait a full 3 hours before getting belligerent. That's just....marvelous. Cubed.

I seem to recall an issue with capturing in 12 bit audio instead of 16 bit (or was it 12 khz?) or something, causing a bug in iMovie with sync. Is the sync of the export off by 25%? Does the audio or video have a different length (or pitch) than your original? You can fix the sync on the export with Sync Hole

actually it was an issue with 16bit audio at 48kHz. to fix this problem you need only to open your project after getting pissed off at it for not working, select all, Extract Audio and simply re-export it as a DV and the problem is fixed. someone on the Apple site told me to do that and it took care of it immediately. still wondering if this problem has been fixed in iLife 5though.
