I have a question about upgrading from iLife04 to 05.

I bought a new PB back in September, it came preloaded with iLife04. In the box were two little coupons, to serve as "proof of purchase" for iLife04 (And there was one in there for OS X Panther too).

If I want to upgrade to iLife 05, do I need to go buy the iLife05 package? Are there two different versions: an upgrade for people like me and a full version for others? Or is there only one package- the full version? Do I need this coupon that they gave me with my PB, or is it essentially junk?

Also, being a student is there any other alternative to getting iLife 05 such as a student discount, etc?

Just want to make sure I get the correct item if I do decide to upgrade to iLife 05, and not end up buying the wrong (and more expensive) version. Since I am new to macs I have not been through this process before so I thought I would ask.

not sure if there is a upgrade path or not but the proof of purchase are worthless. As for student discount goto the apple store, click on education pick your school and then the prices will be lower to reflect the discount (usually 10%).

This is wrong.

Pay full price or be a student/teacher. The end. The only way to get iLife upgrade is if you purchased a mac after Jan 11th.
