iMovie Audio Waveform is not showing up

I use iLife 04. I shot some footage that I imported in iMovie for editing.

When I go in the Preferences and select Show Audio Waveform (or whatever it's called), nothing shows up in the Timeline. I just have my own video track and two empty tracks right below.

Do I need to do something else for the waveform to show up? I know I have seen it before....
