Whenever I'm at a secure site Safari page load times are EXTREMELY slow. It can take up to 40 seconds to load some sites. Certainly some of the speed could be a result of the server being accessed, but all secure sites I've visited are slower than non-secure sites.

I've tired IE5, Camino & Netscape and they all load the same secure pages much faster than Safari. I've accomplished the "removing the icons" speed trick mentioned in this section, but the secure sites are still ridiculously slow.

Anyone else have similar experiences? Any Ideas?

I have the same problem, but I wonder how much of the problem is due to the sites themselves.. BofA, Citibank, MBNA, and CountryWide just to name 4 are slow as heck for me. And so is my Cox webmail.. I think it's an https thing more than a Safari thing.
