Is this coming up in Tiger? Just read an interesting angle on how AAC+ will affect Internet radio.

According to the recent Ars Technica digital audio format article, HE AAC is really only ideal for very-low-bitrate streaming audio. So if you're talking about using it to replace LC AAC or MP3 as what you rip to, I don't think you'd even want to do that. If you're talking about support for HE AAC streaming via the Radio feature, then maybe.

Support for the streaming radio is exactly what I was hoping for. If you read that link I provided, it sounds like a real boon to low-bandwith streams. In fact, one of my favorite internet radio stations already streams in AAC+. Sounds like internet radio could really expand in the future, especially with the growth of free Wi-Fi hotspots.
