I have a question on how to change the way iTunes sorts music by artist (if it's possible). I have a rather extensive jazz collection on iTunes, and the thing about jazz music is that you very often see artists performing with their peers. So my collection, when sorted by artist, as I prefer to look for things, is rather jumbled. I'll have a "Dizzy Gillespie" section, and then about 7 or 8 "Dizzy Gillespie & so-and-so" sections. Is there a way to have iTunes catalogue a tune under two different artists without duplicating the song? That way, instead of having a gazillion "Artist A featuring Artist B" sections, I could look up Artist A and see the song, as well as seeing the same song under Artist B. Thanks!

Short Answer: Use smart playlists.

Long Answer: Here's what I do. If there's a special collaboration, I put the main artist in the Artist field and add the guest artist in the comments field ("Vocals: Guest Artist" or
"Featuring: Guest Artist"). All of the main artist's songs stay together, but a search for an artist's name shows all songs on which he appears. When there's a regular collaboration (like Ella Fitzgerald & Louis Armstrong), I leave the artist like that.
