Hello,

I am pleased to announce that I am probably going to get an Apple iBook G4 in the near future. !

Well, about iWork. I'm not sure if I'll want to get it. OpenOffice.org (NeoOffice/J or whatever would work too), TextEdit, AbiWord, etc. would be fine for word processing (that's my guess, anyway). [Can any of those apps do indentations for lines after the first in a paragraph?]

So my question is, how much is Keynote compatible with PowerPoint? Apparently it can export to the PowerPoint format. But the transitions aren't likely to be the same and I don't see how that'd work... I'd like any possible Keynote presentations made to be compatible with PCs running Windows. I do not intend on getting M$ Office for Mac for those of you who'd like to suggest that.

So how does Keynote export to PPT? Does it change the transitions around, remove them, etc.?

Thanks for any help, folks - it's appreciated.

Text Edit at first glance does not seem able to do indentations after the first line.

I can point out that both Mellel and Nisus Writer Express 2 are pretty good word processors. They both can do indentations after the first line too. And they're both way better then OpenOffice or NeoOffice/J.

If you want Keynote presentations to be able to be worked on Windows PCs you have to export them to ppt format. Keynote attempts to replace its transitions with Powerpoints transitions.

If you just want other users to view them without being able to work on them you can export the Keynote as a Quicktime or Flash movie.

Oh and to get Keynote 2, you have to buy iWork.
