Dammit. Why the heck couldn't they write it to standards that both Mac and PC understand?

Do you have a link to the system requirements? I can't find it.

(1) marketshare
(2) it's a new product. If it proves popular enough, they may well invest the money to develop a Mac version of their software. It couldn't hurt to drop them a line and mention that you'd be signing up right away if there were a Mac-compatible version.

But if it's web-based, couldn't they just use valid XHTML and Java or something, thereby avoiding the cross-platform issues???

Well some of it appears to be web based, and that part I would suspect works fine cross-platform, but there is some client software you download, which is what, I suspect, requires Windows.

The client is basically the website rolled into a windows app.
