In anticipation of iPhoto 5 I thought I'd might perform some preventative maintenance on my iPhoto 4's library as is suggested by those on this and other forums. I held the recommended keys while launching the program and waited for the 1500 images or so to do their thing. But consistently, towards the end of the process iPhoto quits and I am asked id I want to submit an error to Apple. Fortunately, the library is copied and the original not effected. You just have to toss out the newly created one.

Now, this also happens to the same library copied to the laptop as backup. What gives? I've tried deleting the preference, but hesitate to discard anything else for fear of loosing alterations, ratings, albums etc.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.
