what macros? Can you be more specific? Without any further information, I would suggest looking at your various preferences, to see if those will help you.

Because my G5 has been slower recently and my dock buttons need to be clicked like 5 times sometimes. Ut2k4 has been crashing when things get too chaotic, too. I was thinking I might have a virus or spyware and I heard having macros on makes you vulnerable to that.

Go to Preferences > Security and at the bottom there is a checkbox that says "Warn before opening document with macros". Be sure that box is checked.

The only time you have to worry about macros is when you load a Word document that comes from someone else. It should pop up a dialog box asking you to enable macros. At that point, click "Disable macros".
Ignore the argumentative nature of this poster. He is old and can't engage in meaningful dialog
very long. Therefore, management asks that you at least humor him. Thanks.
