Hello all. I was wondering if anyone knew of a program that lets you see the number of seeders and leechers a particular torrent file has. I know TorrentSpy does the job for PCs but have been unable to find any Mac program that does the job just yet. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Azureus does, but that's also a client. I don't know if there are any that just scrape trackers. I really don't see the point in that, as most trackers interface with a website to distribute torrent files anyway, so the sites scrape the tracker statistics.

Thanks for the reply.

For some reason, the particular site I'm using is temporarily unable to provide seeder/leecher information for the time being but hopes to change this in the coming weeks. In the meantime, I was hoping to see if the torrents I'm seeding have gotten to enough people to stop/start new ones. Tomato Torrent does tell me how much data has been transferred (which gives me a hint) but nothing more than that. I guess I'll give Azureus a try, but it's just so sluggish and prone to crashing - reminds me of Limewire at its worst.

I won't deny sluggish (compared to Tomato) but its' not that bad and its' not like you need to be active in the app at all much. Tomato does tell you the current upload rate so you could just leave it open until everything dies off. But who knows how long that can be.

I can't remember does the official BT client tell you the number of seeders or not?

I just checked in the official client, juanvaldes, and one of the menu options is "peer detail". I clicked it for a particular torrent and I have a list of IP addresses, each of which has an L or R next to it (?) and a particular upload and download rate. I wonder if L or R means leecher or...seeder? Hmm, that doesn't make too much sense. If anyone has any clue, I'd appreciate any help.
