Hi all,

I'd like to be able to join 2 .mbox files together to create a single one. Anyone know if this is possible.

What I'm planning is a way to archive a .mbox file off to external storage. Then, when enough new mail has been received, join the new and the old file together, so they're all stored in one .mbox file. I'd then removed it from my powerbook and start again.

This would allow me to store mail externally, but then update the stored file occasionally with new mail messages.

Any way to do this easily?

Cheers,

Justin.

You can just drag and drop mbox files out of Entourage.
For example drag your Inbox folder on the desktop and then drop it back in. Once that is done, select all the messages and drag them into the folder of your choice.

I should have mentioned that I'm using mail.app. Each mail folder you setup has it's own mbox file. I want to be able to drag one of these off to an external disk, then add more mail to it at a later point.

You can drag a mailbox out of Mail.app and then reopen it and then drag mail into it. You might have to quit Mail before you reopen the mbox because you might get a locked error.
