I copied a VHS tape to my AlBook using EyeTV. I now have an mpg file on my Mac. I would like to burn a DVD from this mpg. However, when I copy the mpg to the DVD (I used Backup.app) my home DVD player says it's unreadable. I am using a DVD-R disc and I have successfully copied/burned other DVDs using Popcorn without any problems. However, Popcorn can't copy the mpg file - only TS files. So, what am I missing?
Is there some other program that I should use to burn the mpg to the DVD?
Is there a program to convert mpgs to TS files?
Thanks all!

Toast will do this for you.

Just d/l-ed it. Installed and am attempting to burn it. I'm assuming I want to click on the Video tab, but I'm a little lost after that. It says "DVD-Video" which I selected and at the bottom it says NTSC or PAL. I left it on NTSC. I'm hoping it knows the source is an .mpg automatically.
Thanks for the tip!

It's probably explained in the manual. AFAIK it's just a case of drag and drop. If QuickTime can play the content, Toast will re-encode it correctly and burn the right type of disc.

If you have Toast and an EyeTV, you can also click on "File->Burn DVD" directly in the EyeTV software and it will create a suitable Toast project for you.

Well, looks like I finally have it figured out. I am almost 1/2 way done burning the 6 DVDs that I need for tomorrow. I used Memorex's "ExPressit" to make the DVD Case Inserts (buggy as hell but free) and "Discus" to make the 'center' DVD labels (also free with Toast and nice to use, but the ability to print the DVD Case Inserts was extra which is why I used ExPressit for that part).
Very please right now with the results. Thanks again for the advice.
