I need to scan some text documents. Is there a program that will convert the scanned text on the document into text that I can place into Word or Pages? As usual I saved this to the last minute so any help will greatly be appriciated...

You need an OCR application. I've heard from some people that Readiris Pro is the best thing out there for the Mac, but it's expensive ($130).

Unfortunately, there is no such thing as a perfect OCR reader. In my experience (haven't used OCR for a number of years, so this may be dated), you always have to go back and fix things up.
