iCal refreshment problems

When I attempt to refresh iCal 1.5.5 most of the time I receive the following error:

"Connection with host failed after trying for 30 seconds."

However, the internet is available for every other application.

Occasionally, it will refresh, but it only works about 20% of the time.

Any ideas?
