Hi all,

my wife just got back from a business trip, during which she ripped a few cd's from a friend (yeah, yeah, don't start). I want to add them into our main itunes library on the server we use for storage.

I copied them across manually, to the appropriate place (ie from the itunes folder on her powerbook to the itunes folder on the server). Put the album folders into the appropriate artist folders.

Restarted itunes, but it doesn't show the new albums in the main list.

Is there something I need to do to get them to show up?

Cheers,

J.

Start iTunes. Go to File menu, select "Add to library", chose your "iTunes Music" folder. Voila!

I believe that is a perfectly legal thing to do.

Just putting them in the directory isn't enough. They need to be added to the library. Open itunes and drag and drop the directory containing the music into the itunes window.

Again, just dragging them into the iTunes window works as well.

Virtually *everything* on the Mac is drag-and-drop simple.

Get used to it.
