my new Sony T3 takes 640x480 vid (with sound) in mpeg4.
i'm doing some editing in iMovie HD and also sometimes just wanting to shrink the rez in QT Pro for uploading to my homepage (right now 2 minutes of video at 640x480 is way too big at 65mb)
i've tried just about every way to export the vids WITH SOUND... but so far zero success. anyone having this trouble? any ideas?

Actually just had to figure out the same problem with some clips I'd taken with my little Sony digital camera. Google MPEG Streamclip...it's a nice piece of freeware that'll let you export your MPEG1 files into a format that iMovie can import with audio. (I'm just using Quicktime format).

If they really are MPEG-4 as you say, the problem might be that the audio is something QT doesn't like in mp4 files, like mp3. You can convert those with ffmpeg, or if you like GUIs, VLC (use Open File... from the file menu, then check Advanced output). But I suspect your files are MPEG-1 instead of MPEG-4, in which case MPEG Streamclip is the best solution.
