While watching a DVD tonight in Full Screen mode, I noticed that the bars above and below the picture are a shade of gray lighter than than rest of the black background. I would much prefer that everything aside from the picture be totally black.

Is there any way to achieve this effect?

Hey, while we are DVD player as a topic - how do do this? 'zoom' the video like some players - i.e. non-letterbox -- so that the image fills the tv screen rather than a narrow widescreen?
