I'm using The Mouse BT with Office 2004. The Mouse BT works great with Safari as far as scrolling speed, but with PowerPoint 2004 it's ultra sensitive. I often find myself scrolling multiple pages when I just brush the scroll wheel. The System Preferences seem to impact Apple program scrolling speed, but not Microsoft Office. Is Microsoft not playing nice here and wants me to use a different driver even though i'm not using their mouse?

Nothing to do with mouse driver, or the fact that you are using The Mouse BT. Office just seems to have its own scrolling system in place that ignores the rest of your system settings.
