Upgading from Os9 outlook to OSX entourage

A colleague of mine is struggling to upgrade from 9 to X. He's trying to get his old outlook files from his desktop machine into his new version of Entourage on his new laptop.

Importing from entourage with the desktop running in firewire target mode, entourage wants to import the files but from his old Microsoft identites flder, which as outlook is an OS9 app it doen't have.
How are we going to get all his data safely from the os9 mac onto the OSX laptop?
