I don't use iChat much so I know little about it. My daughter uses it constantly.

She wants to change her screename. At one time, I can't remember the details, I got free .mac addresses for everyone in our house to use with iChat. I have a .mac account so don't remember if I did it from there or what. But I digress.

She has been using her .mac address as her iChat address and doesn't think that is "kwl". Wants a new name.

1. How would I get her a new free .mac address for use in iChat?

or

2. Do we have to download AIM and sign up for a new name that she could use in iChat?

Thanks.

Not sure how you can get a new .Mac address for free; however, the below is the link to sign up for a new AIM screen name:

Thanks.

Just found out by doing a little more digging that you can get a free .mac address by signing up for the trial .mac account. The new addy will stick when the trial runs out. I think this is how I did it before.

In any case, we just now signed up and she has a new address.

BTW MOS, something funny in the KC paper today.

People write in to the sports page everyday with their gripes, humor, etc. Today one comment was aimed at the recent signing of a guy that steals bases but is fairly old (for the Royals who are basically a minor league squad nowadays). The person writing in said if we were looking for speed, they may as well sign Rickey. He apparently is available.

Haha, that's good stuff! Who did the Royals get that is fairly old?

Glad you got the screen name thing settled.

Brian Hunter. He is only 31 or 32 but the average age of the Royals not including Jose Lima is about 16 years old. We get 'em before they even think about being good.

And by the time their car insurance rates drop at about 25 or so, they are ready to quit baseball or the Yankees pick them up.
