i had a canon S750, but its software had trouble printing 4 x 6's from iphoto on my new G5 (there are cropping probs; canon is aware of them)

so i acquired the much heralded canon ip4000

there are no software probs and 4x6's print fine

BUT the quality of the image on the S750 is clearly superior

while the ip4000 prints fairly good color photos, the colors are a little too dense/dark/saturated. that is to say, fleshy, fairly light skin tones pick up an orangey hue and just seem a little too "rich;" they are richer than real life

how can this brand new (theoretically newer/better technology) printer be inferior to my older S750? and all the reviews say how amazing it prints!

i dont' want to be hand adjusting color for each photo, and the 1 or 2 other things the canon tech people told me to try had no effect (incidentally, you print from this "EZ Photo" 3rd party software w/the ip4000, since it too has some probs printing from iphoto

any opinions/experience/thoughts?

thanks

hi,

you're looking for the peripherals forum.

in any case i have no idea why your newfangled printer would print worse than the old.
