Here's a quickie for you. I've got virtual pc 7 and a new Mac mini on their way to me. Long story short, I'm looking to be able to access Windows XP Pro via the remote desktop client from anywhere in my house. So here's my question...

When connecting to a network, is there a way to set up Virtual PC to get its own IP address (different from the host Mac's IP address) from my DHCP server (router)? Or better yet, a way to give different static IP addresses to both the mac and the virtual pc?

This Microsoft support page should help; look under heading Virtual Switch. You do know that VPC will not run very fast on a mini, right? Make sure you upgrade your RAM.

Perfect. Just the info I was looking for.

And no worries, I'm not looking for any kind of real speed out of it. I'll be using it for a grand total of two things:
1. Pulling shows off my TiVo (not playing them, pulling them off and serving them up).
2. JP1 Remote Control Programming.

And I do have a gig of RAM on its way to my house too.
