Hey you guys. Long time reader. 1st time poster

I had some questions that hopefuly you guys can answer for me. I used to have iLife 04 (unlegit copy) that my friend gave me. (this July, will be my 1 year Annivesary with my G5) and so ive fellen in love with my Mac. I decided in order to fully support apple, I would buy iLife 05 and iWorks and ive done that. just waiting for them to come through mail.

One program that I cannot afford is Final Cut Pro. My friend has also given me that program. My question is that, is it ok for me to do the auto updates or is that a no no?

I have yet to do them for a year, afraid of something going wrong but hopefuly you guys know.

thanks in advance: thumbsup:

No. You did not pay for the program? Why would it be ok for you to update it?

Seriously... I don't know your situation... but most of the time you have to submit a serial number in order to update apps like final cut. If it's not a legit serial number then you will not be able to update it...

If you mean software update from FCP 4 to 4.5 then yes. Mail in upgrades probably not.

But....well, you know..

ah yes, I do have CD code and all. I mean just the regular updates that pop up every once in a while. Kinda how we do our OS updates.

"updates ready for so and so programs. would you like to download them"

that is what im talking about

thansk for the replys so far.
