I recently purchased a Motorola MPX220 and am wondering if anyone has discovered a way to use the device with OS X. I have scoured the net in search of a clue, but so far all I have come up with is PocketMac.

For anyone who is familiar, this app LOOKS cool - but is absolutely worthless, does NOTHING as advertised, and has absolutely lousy customer service. (Save your money). The phone is an absolute enigma to OS X - as it doesn't even show up as an option to browse under Bluetooth.

It's a great phone aside from the compatibility issues. If anyone can recommend a decent app that will in fact let me browse the contents of my phone, I'd be over the moon.

I had no idea they were stepping up the Synch stuff. That's great to know.
What exactly is ML? Excuse me if that's ignorance on my part?

Is this the type of sync the 7610 has? I thought I read it was (which is presumabley why I can't sync anything with iSync and my 7610). Where can I read about Tiger and ML Sync?

Okay, i'm a total idiot. How does one know if their phone is series 60?
I have a Motorola mpx220

http://www.mobiledia.com/phones/motorola/mpx220.html

Is that series 60?
It's running Windows, which is a sacrilege in this house.

Motorola phones use the modern Sync ML protocol to connect phones via bluetooth. iSync does not currently support this. Motorola phones do not have older connection protocols.

Series 60 refers to an operating system some Nokia phones (and others) use. Google it.

The MPx 220 uses Windows mobile 2004 I believe.
You can pair it as a bluetooth device and transfer audio and pictures, but you can't use iSync until Tiger. You can use USB and iSync though.

Unfortunately you can't. I've been trying for hours. The Mac will recognize the phone, notice that it's there - but not allow you to transfer anything back and forth. When trying to connect, the Mac reveals an error stating 'Improper system installed' or something to that extent.

There is supposedly a plugin to allow iSync to properly talk to a WinMobile device. I've heard about it, but since I don't have such a device, I haven't looked it up. Search for "windows mobile" and "isync" and you should find something.

Here's one I found at Handango. There are bound to be others, and probably some free ones.

As much as I would LOVE a product that they describe, they deliver anything but.
Look at all the feedback for their products. VERY VERY buggy, and the support is sub standard.

Too bad, really.
