I've been looking on ebay for copies of Virtual PC (6) and have come across several that are dealer demos. They can't be registered, they have no manuals and there's no tech support available.
SO -- my question -- what are the downsides of purchasing something like this? I usually like to register things and I certainly like tech support if I'm entitled. Of course, with the plethora of helpful forums all around the web I can't rememember the time I had to resort to actual phone tech support. (I take it back -- it was last night with Ameritech, trying to get port 25 unblocked for private server e-mail!)
Do people have a lot of trouble installing and running VPC? Is this worth a chance -- particuarly given that I'm planning on running this on an aging G4 (processor enhanced to 933 MZ) with 768 MB of RAM? (The windows version is 98 or 2000, depending on what I buy.)
Just wondering about others' experiences.
