Import a group of say 50 MP3 songs.
Highlight 25 and convert to 128 kbps AAC.
When done, highlight another 25 and convert to 128 Kbps AAC.

Delete the first 25 MP3 files while the program is converting
the next 25.

Quirk:
You'll notice it is VERY slow to delete the first group of 25
UNLESS you click on the area in iTunes just to the left of the
oval display that shows converting/playing etcetera. You will
notice that the deletion gets EXPONENTIALLY faster.

In case anyone hadn't noticed it - I'm reorganizing my entire
library and have saved about 16 gigabytes by deleting dupes
and converting some to AAC.

FYI.

That's what you get for converting one lossy encode to another.

We're not talking audiophile expectations here.
320 kbps MP3 to 128 kbps AAC will still sound good enough for
the computer speakers I'm running here.

Correct, but audiophiles would flog you with a dead fish.

I'm a musician - I've played in high volume rock bands for two
decades. You can guess to the condition of my ear follicles.
