I know iphoto keeps an original and an altered image in it's files. I use photoshop for all my editing, so I don't want to have the originals saved, as they're backed up straight from image browser onto dvd-r.

Is there a way to tell iphoto not to keep duplicates. I seem to be having a large amount of disk space taken up by iphoto, which doesn't seem to match the actual size of the photos in the library.

thanks,

Justin.

No, but by running iPhoto Diet you'll easily clean up the duplicates.

If you are running iPhoto 5 you'll have to wait for the new version though.

Sweet Erik, that's just what I needed.

Oh, and there's a beta up for iphoto 5, although I'm using 4 at the moment.

Cheers,

Justin.
