Which app comes close to MacDraw? I am not looking at Illustrator (too big, too complex), but just a drawing app with which I can draw some simple 2D things like how to replace things in the living room f.i.

OmniGraffle is a very nice vector app. Not free ($70), but worth it; or, if your project is very simple you might find the demo mode sufficient.

OmniGraffle is great, but it's a diagramming, rather than drawing, application and is ill-suited for many drawing tasks.

I've had no contact with the Intaglio people, but the Eazydraw people were very responsive to my questions over email - and don't be confused, there's a completely free demo as well as the other license options they offer.
