Hi

I am looking to purchase some music production software..... I already use garageband a fair bit, so am familiar with the interface.

I understand that unbtil recently, apple sold the Soundtrack application, which i understanhd was better than garageband? ANyway, I dont seem to be able to purchase anymore as a seperate package. Was there a reason for them stopping selling it as a seperate application?

I've been where you are and made the mistake of buying Soundtrack a few months ago. It's nice, but it's not really what I was looking for.

To move up to the next level from GarageBand you probably want this: http://www.apple.com/logicexpress. To move beyond that you want this: http://www.apple.com/logic. Soundtrack is now sold only as part of Final Cut Exrpess or Final Cut Pro. Soundtrack really isn't comparable to GarageBand except that is uses loops. Its purpose is more for scoring video. No MIDI.
