I have a need to tag Word Documents with a serial number of sorts.

For example: The first document that I create in 2005 would have a small 05001 in the lower left corner and the 105th document that I create in 05 would be 05105 and so on.

I'm thinking of an AppleScript that would have its own sort of list so it would know which serial number to apply and insert it into either a blank document or a template.

Does anyone know of either an existing solution or some resource on AppleScripting Word?

Thanks, Bill
