Check out this strangeness.
A while back iSync started duplicating e-mail addresses and phone numbers in my .Mac address book. When I synced it, it put the duplicates back onto the Address Book on my iBook. After a while of putting up with this messiness, I decided to fix it. I went through my entire Address Book, fixing all ~350 contacts I maintain. Then, I "Reset All Devices" within iSync so that my Siemens S56, original iPod 5GB and .Mac account would reflect the same pristine contacts that were on my Mac. Then the problems started.
I logged onto my .Mac account from work today. When I hit up the Address Book, it asked me if I wanted to either clear all my contacts and use what was on my iBook, keep what was on .Mac and just modify from the iBook, or some other choice I can't remember. Anyway, I chose to dump the .Mac and go with what was on my iBook. I also cleared my contacts off my phone so I could start fresh there.
Since then, I have not been able to get my contacts from my iBook to either my .Mac account or my phone. No amount of turning off syncronization and on again, deleting the phone and adding it again, deleting the iPod and adding it again, syncing over and over, has produced any results. I followed the instruction on the "Preferences" section of the .Mac Address Book. Nothing. It gets weirder.
The calendars from iCal DO sync up with my phone and iPod. In fact, it repeated my events so that I have as many as 20 duplicates on one day. However, none of the contacts sync up. So, I know the BlueTooth is working. I know iSync is working. It's just not working properly.
My first priority is to get the contacts back into .Mac. Nearly on par with that is getting all the numbers into my phone. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
D
