There was recently a very active posting in Apple's Discussion Board about iPhoto 5 Books and their print qualities. The main concesus was that the new softcover books were of terrible quality. It was also understood that the hardcover books needed improvement. That posting has been removed.

I ordered the softcover book from Apple and was very disappointed in the quality. I recently received the hardcover version. It is definitely an improvement! However, it could be better. In the post I am referring to, and elsewhere in Apple's Discussion Boards, SharedInk.com has been mentioned several times for offering iPhoto users another option for getting their books printed at a higher quality. It is fantastic. I sent feedback to SharedInk and here is their response.

"Thank you for your feedback._ You said:

"You should offer the PDF File Upload option for your MiniBook. Apple's iPhoto 5 now can create books in this format. It would be nice to have the additional option. You should also think about talyoring a few options specifically for the Apple iPhoto 5 using crowd who like to have the option of a higher quality book over what Apple offers."

Offering a MiniBook option for iPhoto5 books is a great idea._ We'll definitely look into that.

_

Regarding special options for iPhoto users, did you have any specific additional features in mind?_ If you know of other iPhoto users that would be interested in additional options, please let them know about SharedInk and have them send us feedback._ If we start seeing more demand from iPhoto users, we'll definitely consider putting together a special program just for iPhoto users._

Have_a great weekend!

I want to encourage everyone who reads this to get onto their site and ask for iPhoto specific features to be added to their service. I also encourage those who do use SharedInk instead of Apple for their books to let Apple know. This need to be fixed, and soon!
