I am trying to nstall final cut express on my powerbook. The box says upgrade on the front lower-left hand corner. when i type in the serial number in the install. a second screen pops up asking for another serial number. I only have one and it won't take the serial number a second time and therefore won't let me install? What should I do?
I also have never owned another version of final cut express. This is the only one i have owned, and I was told the upgrade doesn't mean anything

I bought this version off of ebay and the person didn't explain to me what upgrade meant.

Basically the upgrade requires the previous version's serial number. If you don't have that, you may be out of luck then.

He IS out of luck.

Assuming the eBay story is true, the guy who told him that "the 'upgrade' didn't mean anything" lied to him (or assumed he would use a pirated previous serial number).
